In particular, grapes for brewing have been attracting attention as value-added agricultural products with the recent revitalization of the Japanese wine industry, and the need for a stable supply of high-quality and clean seedlings of various varieties is increasing. There is an urgent need to understand the actual conditions of production, the actual conditions of supply and demand, and the background of this, such as the cultivation of grapes for brewing and the actual conditions of demand.

In view of this situation, in the 2nd and 3rd years of the Reiwa, the Central Fruit Association, under the guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, will discuss the trends of brewing grape saplings and the actual cultivation of brewing grapes nationwide. We will carry out a survey targeting producers and wineries who are involved in the production, supply grape saplings for brewing in the United States, etc., and also investigate the virus of grapes for brewing.
